Overview:
A dynamic, multi-disciplinary engineering and architectural organization specializing in building evaluation and restoration with a strong NYC presence are looking for a Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector (QEWI)- Senior Architect or Engineer to join their NYC office. Responsibilities:
- Lead projects from kick-off to closeout, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
- Coordinate team and stakeholder meetings; resolve project challenges proactively.
- Conduct on-site inspections, testing, and forensic evaluations.
- Prepare calculations, reports, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Maintain organized records, including field data, drawings, and correspondence.
- Serve as a liaison with clients, contractors, and legal teams, providing updates and recommendations.
- Present findings through expert reports, field reports, and in legal settings as needed.
- Supervise a team and provide mentorship.
- Work closely with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to achieve project goals.
- Represent the firm at industry events, seminars, and marketing opportunities.
- Oversee testing activities, including material, structural, and performance evaluations.
- Provide expert guidance during mediations and litigation as required.
Requirements:
- QEWI licensure from NYCDOB or in process to obtain this is required
- Professional Engineer or Registered Architect licensure is required
- Minimum 5 years experience in repair/restoration of facades (FISP) is required
- Bachelor's degree in architecture or engineering required
